Download Knitware Trial Programs
Anyone can download and install these programs. When they are installed, they initially function as trial/demo programs.
THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO ENSURE THAT THE PROGRAMS WILL RUN ON YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM.
The trial Knitware programs are true trials, not "canned" demos - you have almost all of the functionality of the full programs available to you.
You can create complete custom patterns that you can hand knit, machine knit, or crochet.
The only limitations of the trial programs are the following:
- Designer data cannot be defined.
- Custom sizes cannot be created, but all standard sizes are available, and you can still customize any pattern you create for a standard size.
- Pattern data cannot be stored (Saved) in the internal database for re-use, but all patterns - and their schematics - can be saved in external programs for you to use as you wish, even if you do not purchase the programs. (Copyright restrictions do still apply, however.)
- Graph paper creation is not enabled, but all schematics can be saved and/or printed with the gauge-accurate graphic grids superimposed on the pattern diagrams.
- The Round Yoke Calculator is not enabled.
- The Hat Calculator is not enabled.
I'm pretty confident that you'll really like Knitware once you get to try it... To download the programs, go here.
If you do decide to purchase a Knitware program, you can simply order online, and I will email you the serial number that "unlocks" the trial and transforms it into a fully-enabled program.
We've gotten these programs to work in Windows 7 64bit version with a workaround:
- Upgrade to Pro or Premium versions by going to this page* Windows 7 Home to Professional anytime upgrade page in a new window.
- then go to this page: Virutal PC, Windows XP
- choose Windows 7 professional 64, and English (or your version of Windows), then follow the three steps.
- When the virtual XP window opens up, copy the installation files to a folder (I made a folder called Knitware, then three folders in that for the three programs)
- Finally run the installation files in the virtual window, and it does work beautifully.
When you purchase a program, you will receive a serial number by email, usually within 24 hours.
When you start the program and enter the serial number, you "activate" the "trial" program so it becomes a "full" program with all functions enabled.
You only need to enter the serial number once, unless you reinstall the program.
